About the Job:

You will be part of a supportive team of experienced professionals, working primarily from our Sheffield office and representing clients in local courts and police stations. In addition, we operate offices in Barnsley & Chesterfield, so you may occasionally collaborate with our wider team to provide seamless service across South Yorkshire.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable, approachable, and down-to-earth, with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client care. You’ll need to be highly organised, able to work independently using your own initiative, and thrive as a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.

Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Have experience in a range of police station and magistrates work,

• Have knowledge of the public funding system and LAA procedures,

• Have CLAS accreditation and Police Station accreditation,

• Be a qualified duty solicitor

Key Responsibilities:

• Duty Solicitor qualification preferred for the 2–3 PQE role

• Experience in criminal defence, Legal Aid, and advocacy

• Ability to work independently, manage workload under pressure, and attend police stations out-of-hours if and when required

• Excellent communication, case management, and attention to detail

• Commitment to professional development and succession within the team
