About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor / CILEX or CLC Licensed Conveyancer to manage a diverse caseload of residential (and/or commercial) property transactions from instruction through to completion. You will provide clear legal advice, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, and work closely with clients, agents, and lenders to deliver a smooth and efficient service. This role offers autonomy, strong administrative support, and the opportunity to be part of a friendly, collaborative team.

 

Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Solid understanding of residential and/or commercial conveyancing law and processes

• Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently from instruction to completion

• Strong drafting and document-review skills

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly to clients

• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Proficient in using case management systems and digital conveyancing tools

• Strong problem-solving and risk-management capabilities

• Client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service

• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and third parties

• Up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements (SRA, CQS, AML)

• Team player with a proactive, flexible attitude

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion.

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, transfer documents, and other legal paperwork.

• Conduct all necessary property searches, enquiries, and due-diligence checks.

• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors, and other third parties to progress transactions efficiently.

• Provide clear, timely legal advice to clients on all aspects of the conveyancing process.

• Prepare and submit SDLT returns, AP1 applications, and Land Registry documentation.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SRA and CQS standards.

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using the firm’s case management system.

• Identify and manage risks, escalating complex issues where appropriate.

• Contribute to business development and maintain excellent client relationships.
