Small Claims

When court proceedings are issued, uncomplicated and low value money claims between two parties under £10,000 are usually allocated to the Small Claims Track. These claims do not include any legal matters that involve criminal law, family law or insolvency.

The Small Claims Track is designed to be a less formal process to allow individuals to litigate without using solicitors or other legal representatives and so, save for a few exceptions, legal costs are not recoverable even if you are successful.
