Free Wills Month with Aquabox

What Is Free Wills Month and How It Works?

Throughout June, our experienced Wills and Probate team will draft your will in exchange for a suggested donation instead of our usual fee. You will receive the same high standard of legal advice and service, with no difference in quality or care. The only change is that your contribution will go towards supporting a charity doing vital humanitarian work.

Each year, we carefully select a handful of charity partners that reflects both our local roots and our wider values. This year, we are proud to partner with Aquabox, a volunteer-led organisation based in Wirksworth that provides clean drinking water and essential aid to communities affected by disasters across the globe.

After visiting the Aquabox depot, our team saw first-hand the impact of their work. Volunteers dedicate their time to assembling water filtration systems by hand, which are then sent to areas where access to safe drinking water is limited or unavailable. The scale of their reach, combined with their local presence, made them a natural choice for our Free Wills Month campaign.

As Ellie Whitehead from our Wills and Probate team explained, visiting Aquabox was a real “wow” moment. Seeing the commitment of the volunteers and the practical difference they are making reinforced our decision to support them. We are proud to play a part in helping them continue their work.

Aquabox creates water filters that provide safe drinking water and humanitarian aid to people affected by natural disasters, extreme weather events, and conflicts.

Taking part in Free Wills Month is straightforward and designed to make the process as simple as possible. Instead of paying our standard legal fees, we ask for a suggested donation:

  • £100 for a single will
  • £200 for mirror wills

This represents a significant saving, while still giving you access to expert legal advice tailored to your individual circumstances. Your appointment also provides an opportunity to receive guidance on related matters such as care fee planning, protecting assets in the event of remarriage, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, which can be arranged at a reduced fee if required. As an SRA-regulated firm, Best Solicitors ensures that every will is prepared to the same professional standard you would expect at any other time of year.

There is no obligation to include Aquabox in your will. However, many clients choose to do so after learning more about the charity’s work and the impact it has on communities in need. The decision is entirely yours, and our role is simply to provide clear, professional guidance throughout the process.

We understand that flexibility is important when arranging your will, which is why we offer a range of appointment options during Free Wills Month. For those who would like a more personal experience, we are hosting in-person appointments at the Aquabox depot in Wirksworth on selected dates throughout June.

These sessions provide a private consultation space, along with the opportunity to see the charity’s work up close. Visiting the depot gives you a better understanding of how your donation contributes to their efforts, making the experience even more meaningful.

If you would prefer a more convenient option, we also offer remote and office-based appointments:

  • Telephone consultations
  • Video appointments
  • Meetings at Best Solicitors offices

Whichever option you choose, you will receive the same expert advice and professional service from our Wills and Probate team.

Making a will is one of the most effective ways to ensure your wishes are clearly set out and legally protected. It allows you to decide how your assets should be distributed, who should benefit from your estate, and who will be responsible for carrying out your instructions. Without a valid will, your estate will be handled according to intestacy rules, which may not reflect your personal circumstances or preferences.

A professionally written will also helps reduce the burden on your loved ones during what can already be a difficult time. By providing clear instructions and legal certainty, you can minimise the risk of confusion, disputes, or delays. This not only protects your estate but also provides reassurance to those closest to you.

Ultimately, making a will is about taking control of your future. It ensures that your wishes are respected and that your loved ones are supported in the way you intend. Free Wills Month provides an ideal opportunity to take that step with the guidance of experienced professionals.

Free Wills Month is only available for a limited time, and appointments are expected to fill quickly. By taking part, you are not only securing your own future but also supporting a charity that delivers life-saving aid to communities around the world. It is a simple step that can have a lasting impact for both your family and those in need.
